Confession

'I like you.'

In her head, it sounded so simple. Just a sentence. More like a phrase. A word - in 3 parts.
She giggled in her head at the Hitchiker's reference, and returned to her self pity.
After weeks...months...basically eons, of jumbled up feelings, mixed signals and all sorts of comments from her friends, and a few chosen relatives, she'd decided to just...get it over with.
She thought she'd chosen a pretty good moment. Lunch-time. In the library. (Who better than a guy who spent his lunch-times in the library (and who wore reading glasses and actually looked cute with them!)) No-one else was around. Just them, 9 walls (yes, it was an oddly shaped library) and countless bookshelves.
After spending a few minutes pretending to look for a book, (and finding a good few to add to her To-Be-Read list) she'd walked right up do him and done...'it'.
And now we arrived at this particular moment. Her mentally ducking for cover, waiting for a rejection. He'd let her down easy. She knew he would. He was so kind and polite and..cute and..handsome and..Right. Back on track.
it was all a matter of waiting for those..11 little words.
