Tglt hea raamat, aga algus ei tekitanud sõltuvust.
Ma arvasin kogu aeg, et Dakon sureb. Olen spoilerdanud selle endale kusagil. Oh jah. Tend to do that.

Werther oli suhteliselt... ullike. Liiga hea südamega. See minu meelest tema hukatuseks saigi.
Lotte... Wertheri silmis ideaalne. Aga seda vist tormiliselt armastatud ongi? Tundus olevat hea südamega inimene sellegipoolest. Kui palju Werther ka ei soovinud, Albertit ta vihata ei suutnud. Ainus asi, mis mulle selles liigpoeetilises asjas huvi pakkus.

At school our classroom had a small rodent zoo consisting of two rabbits, three hamsters, a litter of baby gerbils and a guinea pig. At first, I'd thought the teacher was raising snack food, which impressed me, being the first sign of intelligence she'd shown. Soon, though, I'd figured out the animals' true purpose and left them alone, though I would never understand the appeal of petting and coddling perfectly good food.

When Karl had heard that, he'd been a bit taken aback, this probably being the last issue he'd expect Clay to raise, far behind the fact that Karl had once helped to kidnap him. But Clay's priorities were never the expected ones. But stealing artifacts? That pissed him off. They'd eventually negotiated a compromise. Karl could still steal from museums, but only jewels and only the short shown off as historical bling with no archeological significance.

"Drive," I said. "Even the extra vehicle insurance isn't going to cover a bear attack."

"so," he said. "Clay was worried we'd never find you out here, but all I had to do was follow the bitching and moaning, and here you are."

Ma ei saa aru, miks nii halvad arvutused... Mulle meeldis. Esmase twi-vaimustusega võrrelda ei saa, kuid tegu polnud halva raamatuga.

Arvamus: Autor käis täiega ajudele. Tuletas end pidevalt meelde. Lugu ise oli hea, vahepeal oli isegi tunne, et sellel mingi suurem tähendus. Nii et tagamõte ka olemas. Kuigi kohati oli see asi väga absurdne... Ja ta kirjutamisviis käis väga väga väga ajudele. Põldmarjade rida.... no mida effi. xD
Iseenesest oli see hea raamat (kuulub kuhugi nende igavate klassikute kõrvale kunagi), aga ma ei soovitaks seda mitte kellelegi. Sel lihtsal põhjusel, et on lugeda nii palju häid asju, mis on ka hästi kirjutatud. Samas ei saa sellele vähe punkte ka anda... aeh.

Marc's favourite travel game was highway tag, which he played by getting just close enough to passing semi trucks to reach out his window and touch their real bmupers. Seriously. The man thought the inevitability of death didn't apply to him simply because it hadn't happened yet.

"Have you seen your mother?"
"Yeah," Etsaid, and my heart actually skipped a beat.
He knew mom was in the woods? If so, why hadn't he mentioned it? He knew as well as I did that she only Shifted when she was upset about something.
But I should have known Ethan was joking. "Slim lady. Blue eyes and a gray pageboy," he continued, his eyes glistening in appreciation of his own humor. "Answers to the name 'Mom'."

"How does Parker's body compare to mine? Hmm." I gave Parker a quick, theatrical once-over, and he smiled, clearly catching on to my line of thought. "Nice legs and killer biceps. But I have better boobs. No question."

"That brings us back to my questions," Parker said. "If she belongs to one of the South American Prides, where are her fellow Pride members? Why on earth would they let her off on her own?"
"Maybe she killed them all," Vic suggested, morbid humor shadowed behind his eyes.
Ethan crossed his arms. "Then they probably won't mind if we keep her." His cocky smile clearly showed his confidence that he could tame any tabby.

He shrugged, crossing bulging arms over his spotless polo shirt. "I'm just getting my facts straight. So... you're saying you were screwing a serial kidnapper for most of your last semester at school?" He turned then to face my father as my blood boiled. "I'd say that was tuition money well spent."

I swallowed thickly. "What good is the truth when you only use it when it doesn't matter?"

He held up both hands, as if to ward off a blow. "All I'm saying is that he got more than he bargained for with you."
"I got more than I bargained fr with him, too. Much more. I know he's completely different now, but he was really nice and fnny when he was human. But apparently his manners didn't survive the transition."
Marc smiled. "Yeah, well, yours didn't survive the puberty, so you can't really talk."

I took another sip and cradled the tiny cup in both hands as I met Ethan's eyes. "I think he dumped me."
"I think yu're right." He pinched a crumb from the corner of my brownie. "Seriously, though, what did you expect? How many times can you not marry a guy and still expect him to hang aound?"

"Where am I?" He laughed, and in that grating, malicious perversion of joy, I heard a faint remnant ofthe sweet, delightfilled laughter I remembered from the Andrew of old. The man with gentle eyes and slow, patient hands. He was still in there somewhere. He had to be. "I'm in hell, Faythe. And you're going to keep me company."

As much as I appreciated Vic's concern, Marc and I were none of his business. We were perfectly capable of screwing up our relationship all on our own.

My hand fell on the cassette tape in a plastic case. I threw it at him as hard as I could. It hit his nose and, to my surprise, left a tiny cut and a single drop of blood.
Luiz stomped toward me and crushed the tape beneath his foot. I grabbed another. Aerosmith. Nope, can't throw classic Aerosmith. I snatched a copy og the Thompson Twins' greatest hits and chucked it at him.

“Brett got mauled by a stray. Colin wouldn’t help, so Faythe knocked him out and killed
the stray. With a meat mallet.”

“Hey, let go!” I demanded, summoning anger to replace the fear curdling the contents of
my stomach. Fear cripples you, but anger helps you fight, and I now knew without a doubt
that I would soon be fighting. “You do not want to know what happened to the last cat
who pissed me off.”
Okay, technically all I’d done was scratch the end of his nose with my partially Shifted
teeth, but the cat before that…He’d gotten his brains splattered all over both me and
several square feet of dry brown grass.

Radley rolled his eyes. He actually rolled his eyes at my father, Alpha of the south-central
territory and head of the Territorial Council. Sure, I did that all the time, but I’d also peed
on his lap when I was two.

“Spouting nonsense like that makes you sound like those idiots who turn up in the woods
with their cameras every year hoping to spot Bigfoot.”
“You know, they’re not completely off base.” I plucked a lone brown leaf dangling from
the branch over my head and broke off the first lobe. “Someday one of them might get
lucky and capture a shot of Elias Keller.”

“Look, you were actually doing them a favor, and no one got hurt.” He gestured with the
can as he spoke. “They’ll bluster for a while, then the whole thing will blow over. Right?”
Leaning against the door frame, Jace took a long swallow of his soda, and when no one
answered, a tight, cautious smile stole over his face. “I mean, what are they going to do?
Execute you twice?”

He stopped in the middle of the living-room floor, the
tension in his expression giving way to momentary confusion. “Where are Marc and
Lucas?” He paused, eyeing the newly open floor space. “And the coffee table?”
“Collateral damage.” Marc stepped into the living room from the front porch and Lucas
came in behind him.
“I see.” But my uncle didn’t look like he saw.

My father frowned at me, seemingly at a loss for what to say in the face of such chaos, and
that very concept sent me into a tailspin of panic. I didn’t know how to function in a world
where my father was speechless and Marc was absent. They’d always been the great
constants in my life, and without their ironclad support in place, nothing made sense.
Nothing I did or said mattered, because life would never be the same again.

want to see them suffer, either. Maybe we should flip a coin….”
“Good idea, dumbass!” I knew smarting off was a bad idea, but I just couldn’t help myself. My mouth
was the only weapon I had left. “You have a three-sided coin?”
